To the West Frankfort and Southern Illinois Communities,
Hello! This year the Frankfort Intermediate School Beginning Band is off to a great start! We have 58 students enrolled. This is almost twice the amount of students we had involved last year. Unfortunately, renting an instrument is out of reach for some families in our community and the school does not have enough instruments for these students to play. I want to make the band available to as many students as possible.
To help these students (and their families) we are calling on the community to donate any band instruments that might be sitting around needing to be loved and played. Specifically we are looking for Flutes, Bb Clarinets, Alto Saxophones, Bb Trumpets or Bb Cornets, Trombones, Euphoniums or Baritones, and Percussion Bell and Practice Pad Kits. Any instrument in any condition would be helpful.
If you do not have an instrument to donate but would like to contribute to our program we also need funds to repair our current instruments and to purchase new music for the students. Any donations can be left at the Central Junior High School or Frankfort Intermediate School Offices. Your donations for the students will be greatly appreciated and help them learn about and enjoy music for years to come!
On behalf of the band students, Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jeremy Followell
