The WF Water Dept is currently repairing a line that feeds CJHS/ASC. FIS is not affected. CJHS students have clean drinking water & we will utilize FIS & escort student there for restroom facilities.. A Boil order will follow.

Good evening parents/guardians,
We will have our annual intruder drill at FIS on the morning of Thursday, September 11th at 9:45am. The purpose of this drill is to prepare our students how to respond in the case of an actual emergency where the safety of our school environment is being threatened. This drill will be conducted with local authorities to ensure that our protocols are going above and beyond expectations.
If you do not want your child to participate in the drill, you need to request an opt-out form from the office then sign/return it to the school by Thursday morning.
We appreciate your continued support in our efforts to keep all children safe in our care!

Every year our district asks each family to acknowledge and sign the FCUSD #168 Student-Parent Handbook. In year's past, this acknowledgement has been in paper form. This year, we have added that acknowledgement on TeacherEase for your convenience so that you can sign and return it electronically. To do this, simply log in to TeacherEase, then click the banner at the top with the direct link to the acknowledgement page. You will need to acknowledge and sign with your student's name, acknowledge and sign with your name, and then submit. Dismissal Time

Statement Regarding Incident at Football Scrimmage
At Friday evening’s scrimmage between Frankfort Community High School and Johnston City High School at Johnson Field in West Frankfort, those in attendance may have observed an individual being removed by officers from the West Frankfort Police Department. District administrators had been informed of a juvenile who might have a weapon. The juvenile was quickly located and it was determined that he had an airsoft gun in his possession. The WFPD then removed him from the scene. The juvenile was not a student of Frankfort Community High School nor Johnston City High School.
We thank our vigilant students, school administration and staff, and WFPD officers for helping to identify and resolve this situation quickly and safely. Administrators from West Frankfort and Johnston City have been in communication with each other regarding what was an isolated incident. As we keep our friends in Kentucky in the Mayfield and Graves County school communities in our thoughts after an incident at their football game this evening, we will continue to work to keep our students and the public safe so they can enjoy events like tonight’s meet the team activities and scrimmage.

Thanks to some additional sharp-eyed proofreaders, there is an August 12 update to the Parent-Student Handbook that is now posted on the District's websites. There were no policy changes, just some clean up of some grammar and wording. Thanks for those who have read and assisted us in this project.
