The last week of short schedule was not short on learning activities in 4th grade!
Homecoming
6th-grade classes held a live supply and demand auction to see the U.S. economy in action! Students managed a personal bank ledger to track their spending and balances. Several students formed business partnerships, pooling their capital to win high-value items and later split the profits! They watched how limited supply and high demand made prices soar, while excess supply caused prices to drop. It was a fun, hands-on way to learn real-world economics, budgeting, and collaboration! 💰✨

There was a Samsung phone found at the football game on Friday night (8/21). It is in the high school office .

Thank you to the anonymous donor for our new outdoor seating and shelter. Learning outside was such a treat with the cooler temperatures this week!
5th graders are settling into their new classroom routines. They are working hard, learning new things, and showing off their creativity.
Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Crissy Wall for being selected as one of only three educators honored by American Shield Roofing across Southern Illinois for going above and beyond for their students. Nominations were taken for teachers who continually shield their students in the loving and impactful environment they've created within their classroom, providing them an opportunity to thrive. Mrs. Wall has continually done just that for 33 years. In addition to this wonderful recognition, Noah and Hannah Tippy generously purchased every item from Mrs. Wall's Amazon Wish List to reward her and her students with a classroom makeover. FIS would like to thank American Shield Roofing from the bottom of our Redbird hearts for giving public recognition of greatness to someone we've always known to be pretty special!
